How To Make Chicken Burritos

The best way to make chicken burritos is by following the steps in this recipe. The great news is that there’s plenty of room for additional creativity. Feel free to remove the ingredients you fancy less and replace them with whatever gives that flavor kick you desire. Some typical burrito ingredient options include the following:

  • Shredded romaine lettuce
  • Chopped avocado
  • Chopped green onions
  • Sliced jalapeño chilis
  • Guacamole
  • Beans
  • Sour cream

While these suggestions are popular ingredients for burritos, feel free to get experimental and add some of your own ideas to the mix but within culinary reason!

How To Roll A Burrito

    1. Warm the wraps - You can do this in the frying pan, microwave, or even the oven. The reason for warming them is that it makes them easier to fold into the shape you want.
    2. Add the fillings and toppings - Just make sure your filling ingredients are placed in the center of the bread. You should also leave some space at the ends for folding.
    3. Wrap the sides - Pull both sides of the wrap over the contents in the middle as if you were wrapping a blanket around someone to keep them warm and comfortable,
    4. Fold the ends - The top and bottom ends of your wrapped meal must now be folded over and pressed down using your fingers.
    5. Make them stick - If you’re worried the bread won’t stay put and will unwrap itself, keep the burrito wrapped in foil for a few minutes. You could also use wooden toothpicks as pins to hold the wraps in place.

Chicken Burrito Recipe Variations

Looking for alternative ways to prepare your chicken burrito recipe? Let’s dive into some delicious options.

Chicken Burrito Bowl

This is a good recipe to know if you’re feeling in the mood for a burrito, but have run out of bread. Just cook up the same ingredients, but place them in a bowl, add some rice, and there you have it. Burrito bowls also allow for larger amounts of food, which is great news for hungry foodies.

Chicken Burrito Casserole

If you have a casserole dish somewhere in the kitchen, layer your chicken burrito ingredients inside it and let them bake in the oven. Like lasagne and other baked recipes, a chicken burrito casserole turns out delicious when topped with extra cheese that melts in the oven and results in a golden color and crispy texture.

Breakfast Burrito

For a breakfast burrito, you’ll need those tortas, only this time you fill them with your favorite breakfast ingredients, from bacon and eggs to sausages and even vegetarian options. You can even mix such ingredients with typical burrito components such as avocado and tomatoes.
